The world of FMCG is an area we all know so much about - we see, buy and love these brands every day of our lives. So the choice to work within this sector was an easy one for me to make and ultimately led me to Nestlé and the Kit Kat brand.
When applying for the graduate scheme I knew I would be working with some fantastic brands on some exciting and challenging projects. I certainly wasn't left disappointed. From day one I've been given responsibility; I've seen decisions I've made end up on a shelf in my local supermarket; and I've led teams through projects that will have a huge impact on the brand.
Perhaps most importantly though, I've been supported by a team of people that trusts and believes in the decisions I make, enabling me to have a creative input that is not only considered, but also implemented within huge, multi-million pound campaigns.
The ability to make informed and well-educated decisions has no doubt been aided by the impressive training that we all receive as Marketing Graduates. Within the first few weeks of starting we were introduced to a Graduate Programme that was tailored specifically for our roles. Using this as a foundation, we were then able to enter our specific roles and actively implement the training on each of our brands, illustrating how practical and actionable the programme is.
I'd certainly recommend the scheme to anyone who has a general enthusiasm for FMCG and the world of Marketing. The level of training and support means your academic background does not necessarily have to come from within this discipline. Nestlé is also a fantastic company to work for, a company that will support and nurture you as an individual, and will genuinely believe in your ability to lead the business in the future. I certainly hope that I can continue to develop here for many years to come.
