More about finance Placements

I always knew that I wanted to work in Finance. Through attending career fairs and employer presentations at university, I found that the FMCG sector attracted me most. It's a highly dynamic, challenging, international environment that affects my everyday life – perfectly combining my desire to work with numbers with my passion for business. After graduating in 2007, I joined the Nestlé Finance Graduate Programme. As the world's largest food and beverage manufacturer with a strong portfolio of brands, Nestlé offers me a wide range of experiences and challenges within finance.

I'm already on my third placement, working in Corporate Reporting. This role involves preparing monthly performance reports and dynamic forecasts, consolidating group results for presentation to the board and reporting to the global headquarters in Switzerland.

Working closely with the Financial Director and gaining exposure to senior managers is a fantastic opportunity, although at times slightly daunting. I'm required to juggle numerous deadlines, so planning and discipline are key for this role. Although starting a new placement puts you on a steep learning curve and can be challenging at first, it is an effective way of learning the skills and competencies necessary to become a successful manager.

I've really enjoyed my experience so far, and would recommend Nestlé to all ambitious graduates looking for a rewarding career in a friendly and motivating environment.

Masako graduated from the University of Warwick with a BSc in Accounting & Finance.
