More about Supply Chain Progammes

When I joined the Nestle Supply Chain Graduate Scheme, I embarked on three very different but equally rewarding placements in Procurement, Supply Chain Planning and Distribution. The great thing about the Nestlé Graduate programmes is that you're working from day one in a real role. You're expected to deliver results – with plenty of support, of course.

After finishing the formal programme, I was offered the chance to join our European Procurement team in the role of European Lead Buyer. I was responsible for purchasing key ingredients for over 100 factories located all across Europe. Following this I moved into a role leading our Imports Supply team, managing finished product supply from as far afield as South America. During my time in this role we managed the supply of a number of new product launches into the UK.

Just recently I've moved into a role as the Demand Planning Manager for our UK Food & Beverage business. Within our relatively small team we are forecasting the demand for the 10 billion cups of Nescafé consumed each year – as well as other iconic food brands such as Herta and Carnation.

What's great about working at Nestlé? There is always something new to work on and somewhere to add value. Despite being such a big company you can really see the results of your work – hopefully on the supermarket shelves. And what's next for me? Well, the great thing about working for the world's largest food company is that there really is an unlimited number of opportunities.

Andrew graduated from UMIST (Now part of Manchester University) with an MEng in Engineering, Manufacture and Management.
