My time in the Applications Team at Nestlé has been invaluable. I have had many experiences and opportunities within the company and feel I have been treated as a member of the team; not just a student. Being given ownership of projects has enabled me to work and run a project from start to end, seeing how my work has made a direct impact on the business.

I work in Business Systems, supporting the Human Resources and Finance using programs such as SAP. The amount of support received from colleagues and the other placement students has really assisted in my development within Nestlé.

The social aspect has also been very enjoyable - getting to know my colleagues away from the office by participating in nights out, team days and day trips.

I decided to apply to Nestlé after a networking event arranged by my university. Of all the companies invited, Nestlé provided the most entertaining, informative and vivacious presentation. From there, I looked into the Company, looked at past profiles and the opportunities available and I was excited to apply. The prestige of Nestle, and working for a company that is such a household name has allowed me to experience how a global company runs and interacts with staff and customers.

The thing I like most about working for Nestlé is the strive for excellence shown by all staff, their pride in working for such a company; portrayed by the length of service. Working here has improved the quality of my work, the pride I take in a project and my desire to go beyond expected.

Melissa is studying for a BSc Business and Management at Aston University
