Supply Chain is a pivotal function within Nestlé and has been for more than a decade. Our role is to work closely with our customers and our internal colleagues to not only efficiently deliver product on time but to forecast our short and longer term business plans, purchase sustainable solutions competitively, collaborate with customers to create shared value, and help the community. We’re heavily involved in initiatives such as working with Fairshare and leading the way with targeted road mile reduction; whether that's vehicles delivering supplies to us or products from us to our customers.

We can’t say for definite at this point exactly what you’ll be doing as this will be finalised nearer the start of your placement due to constant changes in priorities and business needs. However, we can assure you that you’ll be working on something current, will be challenged and will be given the opportunity to add real value to the business.

Typical roles could include:

  • A Demand Planner in the Confectionery division based in York, working with the rest of the business to predict demand; essential in providing best in class customer service whilst enabling us to reduce our inventory
  • Being involved in taking orders from customers; perhaps working with them to phase seasonal confectionery deliveries
  • Running a warehouse shift, ensuring a hundred vehicles a day go out on time day in day out
  • Being part of our Ensure Supply Team in York or Croydon who work with factories across Europe or co-packers across the UK
  • Joining one of our Purchasing teams.

Whichever your role or wherever your location, you’ll become actively involved in NCE – Nestlé Continuous Excellence - which is an exciting new way of doing things, aligning our business goals and rolling out Lean Enterprise thinking throughout the Nestlé globe. Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations are pioneering this in the UK

You may remain in one team in one location for the duration of the programme or a couple of different teams and perhaps a couple of different locations. Therefore, geographical mobility is essential. If you impress, this could be your chance to gain a place on our Supply Chain Graduate Programme; who knows where this industrial placement could take you......
