HR is delighted to be offering one industrial placement opportunity from summer 2012. If you’ve already read about our HR Graduate Programme, you’ll know that HR is structured under a model known as The Three Box Model. We believe that the ‘HR Operations’ box provides an ideal placement opportunity for a would-be HR professional to get a good grounding in HR.

We can’t say for definite at this point exactly what you’ll be doing as this will be finalised nearer the start of your placement due to constant changes in priorities and business needs. However, we can assure you that you’ll be working on something current, will be challenged and will be given the opportunity to add real value to the business.

Typically, previous placement students have undertaken six months in Employee Services and six months in Recruitment Services and we would anticipate you undertaking a similar placement structure although, as already explained, we can’t confirm the exact details until much nearer the time:

  • Employee Services Team – the first point of contact for all HR related queries from people working for Nestlé in the UK, ranging from employment contract changes, maternity leave and absence requests to providing general answers to ad hoc queries. Employee Services includes a Training and Learning Team who provide all the administrative support for our training programmes and related activities. You may find yourself based in one or more of these teams, delivering on a specific project(s) or assisting with day to day query handling
  • Recruitment Services Team – you would, most likely, join the graduate recruitment team, supporting our 2013 graduate recruitment campaign. This would give you a valuable insight into how large organisations such as Nestlé set about attracting graduate applications, how assessment days are structured and the types of skills we look for. The main purpose of your role would be to assist the administration & co-ordination of the graduate recruitment process, particularly around the setting up of telephone interviews and the running of assessment centres.

If you impress, this could be your chance to gain a place on our HR Graduate Programme; who knows where this industrial placement could take you......
